Camping and always a mini-fridge. What might initially sound like unnecessary luxury can prove to be extremely practical? Where drinks do not necessarily need to be chilled, this is essential for foods, as they will otherwise become bad. With a practical and compact mini-fridge, you don’t waste too much space in the car.
Two types of mini-fridges are suitable for camping:
The “normals” as we amply present them here on the website. There are usually sockets at campsites, so you can easily connect the mini-fridge here. These mini fridges have sufficient capacity and can also be used at home. An overview of mini-fridges can be found here.
The very mobile mini fridges with a plug for the 12 V cigarette lighter in the car. These are particularly suitable for camping because they can also be used in the car. In addition to a connection for the normal socket, they also have a plug for the cigarette lighter in the car. These models are usually a bit smaller than the models mentioned above and are therefore even more mobile-friendly as they are easier to transport. Some are more similar to a cool box in appearance, but they usually have a cooling mechanism integrated.
Tip: Connect the mini-fridge to the power supply and let it cool down the evening before departure. Like any other refrigerator, such a mini-refrigerator must first reach operating temperature. On shorter journeys, this is not achieved without pre-cooling.
The latter, very mobile refrigerators are recommended for trips and camping. You just don’t need as much space as at home and yet a little to cool the cold cuts you buy, other food, or possibly sensitive medication. By using both a socket and the cigarette lighter in the car, you remain very flexible.
